Ride with Soci.bike to Berlin

Soci.bike cargo bike ride from Nijmegen to Berlin

From the European Green Capital 2018, Nijmegen, two cargo bikers will ride their soci.bike cargo bike to the ICBF2018 @ VELOBerlin at the former airport Tempelhof in Berlin.

In the several attempts Nijmegen did to become European Green Capital, the citizens of Nijmegen  always went tot he finals by bike; to Copenhagen, to Bristol, to Ljubljana and to Essen.

As European Commissioner Karmenu Vella said in his opening speech in Nijmegen: “In  the  great  Dutch  tradition,  cycling  is  at  the  heart  of  Nijmegen  and  the  city  is  at  the  forefront  of  modern  urban  mobility.  The  centre  of  the  cargo  bike  movement,  developments  in  this  area  pioneered  in  Nijmegen,  can  change  the  way  we  view  transport  in  our  urban  areas. (…)

The  European  Green  Capital  Award  is  not  just  a  singular  award  for  one  city.  It  is  a  showcase  of  best  practices  to  inspire  other  cities  to  build  a  more  sustainable  future.”

We will bring the cargo bike experience and the Green Capital values from Nijmegen to Berlin.

The start of the ride is at 10am at the the Dutch Bicycle Centre, Honigcomplex in Nijmegen.

If you want to participate in the ride as an individual, with your organisation or company, starting from Nijmegen, or from any other spot in Europe and by cargo bike, road bike, trekking bike, e-bike or any other bike, “hop on” to the route.
